This song is written in memory of our sweet friend Remi, who we were supposed to reunite with in Tokyo, Japan after the pandemic has settled down. She died last July 2020 due to cardiac arrest and eventual brain damage after collapsing in a hotel that she is working in.
I (Erick F) wrote this song initially as a gentle reggae-acoustic ballad, but the style changed over the course of revisions. Punk rock, particularly pop-punk, has always been a naturally emotionally expressive style of music that I resonated with even when I was only 18 years old. I've always felt that punk and synthwave should go well together because of the inherent nostalgic character of both genres.
This is the first time for me to write a song entirely in Japanese and treat it as a serious release. I've tried writing in Japanese before but it just didn't come out right because, as a non-native speaker, my pronunciation was still unclear and my skill in the language was questionable. This time, the lyrics really came from my feelings and it felt natural to write in Nihongo because Remi is, after all, from Japan, and a great example of the best traits that Japanese people are known for (even if it isn't necessarily true for every individual -- there is good and bad in all cultures).
This song is also dedicated to her colleagues and friends in Nihongo Partners Batch 5 - Philippines, who knew about her kindness and sunny disposition.
Special thanks to Miku Kadowaki and Akiko Namiki for helping me finish this song.
The cover art is based on a photo by my friend Fumie Okubo. Notice the 'red thread of fate'.
Remi-chan, we will always remember you. You now live in the starlit skies.

My friend Planes And Copters from Brunei who is also UK-based is at his best here with a three short bittersweet instrumentals about heartbreak and regret. CERUMENTRIC
Here kitty, kitty! The synthwave genius returns with a whole new batch of hooky, metal-edged songs that are more fun than a ball of yarn. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 11, 2022
Cat Temper is back with another helping of searing synthwave; the song titles may be tongue-in-cheek, but the music is no joke. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 23, 2020
