Groove 1986

about

In the year 1986, there was a groove that empowered the people to speak out for the voiceless.

There was a groove that fired up the hearts of millions. It stirred the flames of revolution that has always been in our hearts as a people, continuously subjected to the threats of tyranny, of colonial bullying, of subjugation, of being subjected to unnecessary suffering.

These tyrants used to be of foreign origin, but while these forces have left and waned, the demons of tyranny that they bred have possessed their former slaves' families and neighbours.

These demons, disguised as friendly faces with honey-coated voices, continued colonizing the minds and the hearts of the people. They created new tyrants, each with their own zombie army who can write and sing praises to their masters, who in turn helped themselves by feeding on the misery of the people, and killing those who opposed these new slave-masters.

But in 1986, the people spoke out, having had enough of the suffering and deception. Thus the Groove, the sound of uprising, the small rock in a bullied child's hand, the music in the hearts of those who wrote of their love for the land and the people. The Groove came back and sent the ruling demon-fiend and his spawn running out of the land.

Now, the new generation is being called anew, to bring back the Groove, to stir the hearts of children of the land to carry on the legacy of uprising.

To face the new demons that have taken over the land, and give the power back to the people who do not desire power, but to restore the rightful life that has been withheld from them over the centuries.

lyrics

1986 the strongman fell
dancing in the streets
bring back the love

raise your voices
let the world hear us
scream freedom

I won't back down
No matter what they say
From my heart
I want to speak of love

Let's bring back
Oh let's bring back
Let's bring back
the groove
Nobody tell us
What to do
Let's bring back
the groove

Revolution love
Love emancipation
No man-made law
Can stop the voice of love

time to speak against
the killing and hate
speak for the voiceless
before it's too late
